This delicious rub with authentic American herbs and spices is especially developed to make Beer Can Chicken on the barbecue or oven. The paprika, chili and green herbs give the rub an intense aroma, while the sugar ensures a beautifully caramelized chicken skin. By placing the chicken on a can of beer (or coke!) the chicken is steamed from the inside, giving you a superbly moist and juicy roast chicken.
Sprinkle the herb and spice mix generously over a whole chicken. Grab a 330ml can of beer and pour out about 1/3 to make sure the beer doesn´t boil over. Place the cavity of the chicken over the can and put on a medium hot barbecue (180 ͦC-200 ͦC). Close the lid and grill for about 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the chicken. The chicken is cooked when the meat easily comes off the bone.
